Commencing Thursday 1 September 2011, The Salvation Army will be holding a weekly 30-minute international prayer meeting. Salvation Army territories and commands are requested  to choose a half hour between 5 and 8 o’clock each Thursday morning as an ongoing timeslot for Salvationists to pray for the Army and our mission priorities.

Because the Army is at work in so many different time zones there is the possibility that for all, or for most, of every Thursday the Army will be at prayer. The General encourages people to be praying within groups or individually in this weekly worldwide prayer meeting.

“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” Proverbs 22:6 NIV

It all starts here with prayer.

Please pray for our sister Rhode who is in the Intensive Care Unit in a Mexican hospital.

We are looking to God for her healing and return to Phoenix where she and her husband are the divisional leaders.

Thank you, Lord for your love and care for her just now. Hallelujah!

Our hopes to maintain prayer throughout the territory continues at the Waverley Temple Corps. They have good plans in place to pray around the clock to the glory of God.

Make sure your corps gets on the 24/7 prayer diary and that you’re involved.

Prayer is delight in the company of the Creator.

The relief in Haiti will continue to be complex and arduous. A simple reading of the news declares that reality with conviction.

We can pray, knowing that God hears and responds.

Where was He when the earth was shaking so hard? He was right there with them, feeling the pain and anguish.

After we’ve prayed, we need to send some financial support. The Salvation Army is there and giving immediate support.

Haiti could use resurrection power.

John 11:25
“You don’t have to wait for the End. I am, right now, Resurrection and Life. The one who believes in me, even though he or she dies, will live. And everyone who lives believing in me does not ultimately die at all. Do you believe this?”

The Prayer Warriors’ Session today met with the Lord in the signing of their covenants. This is a beautiful privilege and one they engaged with solemnity and sacred response.

The covenant is a requirement of officers which becomes a pivotal moment in their relationship with God and their service in the ‘Army.’ My own covenant is sacred to me. I will hold it dear for my lifetime.
