LOS ANGELES, CA (November 28, 2011) – World-renowned actor and recording artist Robert Davi released his re-imagined version of the Christmas classic song, “Mistletoe and Holly,” to help The Salvation Army provide emergency assistance to the millions of families in need this Christmas season.

Available December 13 for purchase on both iTunes and Amazon.com, 100 percent of Davi’s proceeds from the sale of his new single will be donated to The Salvation Army’s 120th annual Red Kettle Campaign, which kicked off nationally on Thanksgiving Day. In a collective contribution of talent and services, the new arrangement was composed by Nic. tenBroek, mixed and recorded by Al Schmitt and produced by the legendary Phil Ramone at world-famous Capitol Studios in Hollywood, CA.

Davi, a classically-trained singer, studied voice with some of the best when he was younger. He currently studies with celebrated voice builder Gary Catona. Davi, whose initial mission was to help mend America’s spirit by utilizing his voice talent to reinvigorate The Great American Songbook, launched his recording career with Davi Sings Sinatra: On the Road to Romance, which was released October 24 to critical acclaim.

“Mistletoe and Holly” is a follow-up single for the holiday season, and was recorded by Davi in honor of the great Frank Sinatra, who originally released the song on his 1957 Christmas album, A Jolly Christmas from Frank Sinatra. Davi’s new single hit radio stations on November 28 and will be made available to the public on December 13 for $0.99 on both iTunes and Amazon.com – the day following Sinatra’s birthday.

This joint effort of giving by The Salvation Army and Davi is supported greatly by Fontana/Universal, Barton Music & Affiliates, Warner/Chappell Music and Sun Lion Records, among other major entities which have all reduced their respective fees to help fuel this national cause.

Donations to The Salvation Army’s campaign will help raise money for the distribution of food, toys, coats, rental and utility assistance, and many other social services provided by The Salvation Army during the Christmas season and throughout the remainder of the year.

Carolyn spoke about Jesus and his disciples on the Emmaus Road at the Coeur d’Alene Corps on Sunday night. She was great as always. It was in the middle of the old time Hymn sing at the corps, led by Major Ernest Clevitt. The whole night was grand and God was glorified.

Let’s not give up the hymns. Great stuff in them and they reach my heart.

Such was the name of the Christmas program at the Tustin Ranch Corps tonight. It was a gift of music to the community for their support of the work of the corps throughout the year. Almost every imaginable type and style of music was presented to the glory of God with a Scripture narration. It was wonderful.

Standing room only, more than 600 were there to enjoy the beautiful program and a deep reminder of the season upon us. I imagine some will come back tomorrow for Sunday meetings. They have another performance tomorrow night. If you can get there, do so. It will be worth it.

The Western (Territory) Music Institute has been happening at Mt. Crags Camp in Southern California. B/M Neil Smith is leading the charge with an impressive cadre of leaders from around the territory. B/M Carl Saunders is a guest conductor and most welcome in the territory.

We shared in their worship meeting tonight, enjoyed beautiful music and witnessed the movement of God among them all as God was tuning up these Salvationists to His glory. Hallelujah!

They’ll be working all week with numerous public, evening performances. Why not support them in prayer and by your attendance?

It has been our joy to be in the Sierra Del Mar Division where the DHQ is in San Diego. Major Linda Markiewicz is the Divisional Commander and is supported by a capable team of officers, soldiers, employees and volunteers. We met with many of them at DHQ, the Silver Crest Residence, and at Wildwood Camp.

Today was also the closing day of their Music and Creative Arts Camp. Great program and great campers and staff. It was a delight to the glory of God. Hallelujah!

We enjoyed the Final Festival of the above referenced music camp program today at Camp Crags in the Southern California Division. Under the direct leadership of DMD Kevin Larsson and Divisional Leaders Lt. Colonels Rose Marie and Victor Leslie proved valuable and purposeful.
