I was invigorated today to be in the company of the members of the Territorial Social Services Conference. Major Larry Shiroma is the Territorial Social Services Secretary, doing the most good of any such person in this role that I’ve seen.

The information was helpful. The dialog was encouraging and the creative solution environment, stimulating.

George Gallup used to comment on how the senior citizens in America needed something to do. He said, “they are all dressed up with no where to go.” I suppose this is true about a great number of people including the seniors in our culture.

Be bored no more.

Join us at The Salvation Army for an adventure in helping people of all walks of life. Depending upon your willingness, there’s ought to be something for you to do. There are so many days in which we struggle to get it all done and often have limited resources to just hire more people.

When you get there, ask them too about how a person can grow in their faith. It has something to do with making yourself available.

You’re pretty special. You’re bright and good looking. You go to church and you do your best to be a good example to others. Good for you.

These things, all good, have little to do with what God thinks about you.

Conceived first in His mind and then conceived physically, you had His heart at the beginning of the world. He has prepared an eternal place for you so wonderful, they call it heaven. He has made a way for you so effective they call it salvation. He cares for you so much it’s called love. Hallelujah!

That’s what He thinks of you.

Please friends, it’s time to quit smoking. Need more evidence? Need more help?

My brother-in-law died from second hand smoke. I believe those who smoked around him would have quit had they known what they were doing.

Let us each look around us and help others drop the tobacco insanity. God is on our side on this. Hallelujah!

At capacity, the performing arts center and chapel of The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Hawaii was awash in the Spirit of God today. It seats 500. Then there were 50 or so on stage and many others standing. When the children left the hall for another worship designed for them, their seats were immediately occupied by others in the wings. Hallelujah!

Just give us a reason to have a larger hall.

God beautifully filled our hearts with His joy through music, hula, prayer, and His Word. May Jesus be glorified!
