The Christmas story is one of wonder, faith and hope. There are at least three misconceptions about the story.

No mention in the Bible that Mary rode on a donkey. It is logical, but is it factual?

The angels didn’t sing Glory to God in the highest. The Bible reveals that they said it. Must have been like music to the shepherds ears.

The wise men didn’t come to the stable. The holy family would have relocated by the time the wise men arrived some two years later.

The real story of Christmas is truly known when Jesus is born in a person’s heart. It’s happened to me and I’ll never be the same. Hallelujah!

“I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep.” John 10:14-15 NIV

If you’ve never been to Caldwell, Idaho, you have missed one of the most beautiful displays of Christmas lights in America. There’s no doubt that there are more lights per capita here than anywhere else in the USA. The community loves them, as people are strolling amongst the displays in very cold weather. I’m impressed.

Reading from the first chapter of the gospel of John, we learn that Jesus was born to be the light of the world. He has brought illumination to our sight so we might be able to see the love of God in its wonderful colors and warmth. Hallelujah! This is the light of Christmas past, present and into eternity.

“In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.” Hebrews 1:1-2 NIV
