North to Alaska

by Jim Knaggs on July 17, 2010

A dream come true today: we arrived in Alaska. The Divisional Leaders, Majors Doug and Sherry Tollerud have made us feel right at home. We are blessed to be with them and sense the significant ministry that is taking place all over the division. Here’s another friend we met today:

Not only our first visit to Alaska, first moose seen in the wild.

Did you know that Alaska is 2 1/2 the size of Texas?

Did you know there’s more coast line around Alaska than both coasts of the continental USA, combined?

There’s more to learn here and many more friends to make.

Thank you, Lord for a great Salvation Army.

“I will praise you with an upright heart as I learn your righteous laws.”- Psalm 119:7

Commissioners, it’s good to hear that you are meeting new friends and visiting new places. God is sure to abundantly bless your leadership ministry in USA Western, just as He faithfully blessed you leading us in AUS Southern!
By the way, did you notice the second moose standing in the background?
Keep your eyes open, for God has ‘much more in store’!
Dabak and I are looking forward to visiting LA in early October. It would be nice to meet up with you and Carolyn while we are there, and visit your THQ.
    Blessings!

    • Thanks, Tim. I’m glad you noticed that God has more in store. Well done. We’d be honored to introduce you to the West when you come. Blessings!

  2. They show that moose to everyone, including us a couple of months ago. It’s one of those Madame Tussaud wax sculpture’s placed there to perpetuate the myth that there are moose in Alaska. Wait until you visit the Northwest and they take you to a sighting of Big Foot! Enjoy the Wild West; there’s no place in the world quite like it.
