World Cup
This is a great competition, available to the whole world (unlike the World Series in baseball). Into the second set of games, excitement is still high and winning teams are emerging. Whether you call it football or soccer, it’s a great sport and loved by more people in the world than any other. I admit, I am a bit weary with the whole tie game thing, but, after a few more games, a team will come out on top.
Is it possible that healthy competition will strengthen the relationships between the countries? I hope so. If ever we need peaceful endeavors, it’s today.
Is it also possible that athletics such as this could open the door for the witness of the Holy Spirit in countries that are mostly closed to Christian influence? This is how I’m praying. God help us.
2 Timothy 4:7
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
