Rest is advised

by Jim Knaggs on March 19, 2010

In our intensity to serve the Lord we can miss the necessity for a little rest. Instant access and response to matters only accelerates the engagement and increases the pressure. The potential of souls won for the love of Jesus holds our attention and motivates our lives to keep the pace up.

Jesus said, “Come unto me and I will give you rest.” His words go deeper than simply taking a break, but they are grounded in our basic need to rest. In that rest we will find strength to do better. Without it, our efforts risk weariness and loss of focus. Give yourself a break today and take one.

Genesis 2:2
By the seventh day God had finished his work. On the seventh day he rested from all his work. God blessed the seventh day. He made it a Holy Day Because on that day he rested from his work, all the creating God had done. This is the story of how it all started, of Heaven and Earth when they were created.
