Lazarus died

by Jim Knaggs on March 10, 2010

Familiar with the raising of Lazarus by Jesus, recorded in the gospels? You know, he was a friend of Jesus and died while waiting for Jesus to come for his healing. Jesus arrives and declares,”Lazarus, come forth” (speaking in the original tongue of the KJV). Out of his death chamber Lazarus appeared and was clearly alive.

Whilst the text doesn’t record the next chapter in Lazarus’ life, we can understand that he eventually died for good. His body was done and his spirit relocated to heaven where there was a mansion awaiting him. It might have been considered cruel for Lazarus to wait much longer for his place in eternity. It’ll be great some day to have a chat with him about the whole thing.

Just now I’m praying for the well being of a few friends who are suffering terminal diseases. The Lord knows my heart on this and I believe He would be honoured for a Lazarus experience for my friends. So, I’ll trust, knowing that God always does what’s right and best. Hallelujah!

“But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,”- 1 Peter 3:15
