What value faith?
Even generic faith is valuable. We trust those we love. That means we have faith in them.
Faith in it’s deepest sense is that which defines our relationship with God.
- It is essential. No faith…no relationship.
- The measure of our faith defines our measure of God. Large faith = great God.
- Our faith defines our life outcomes. Whether successful or not by societal standards, with faith it’s right.
God has faith in us. Hallelujah!
“But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”-1 Peter 1:15-16

Acts 3:16 Faith in Jesus’ name put this man, whose condition you know so well, on his feet—yes, faith and nothing but faith put this man healed and whole right before your eyes.
And it keeps me following Him daily!
Good word, Archie.
No faith may equal no trust, is it possible to not trust God? No !! It really is no secret what God can do. God takes good care of me, the least so what can God do with the clever ones. we should all join Peter on the water at times, I do, have not got my feet wet yet.
Water-walkers!
I’m not sure that I agree that “the measure of our faith defines the measure of God. Large faith= Great God.”
I am reminded that Jesus taught that faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains. And Paul’s wisdom that God’s strength is made perfect in our weakness. I find greatness in the compassion Jesus had for his doubting disciples. I find that those with the smallest amount of faith remind me that God is great – for God doesn’t need much faith on our behalf to be present and active in our lives. Now that is great because it does not depend so much on me but all on grace.
Hi Miranda…I quite agree with your conclusion. God, absolutely is larger and more capable than we can imagine. The point to be made is that we minimise God by our minimal faith… our perspective affects what God will do through us.
I agree with Miranda – the trouble with elevating ‘faith’ above its object – God – is that it becomes all about the believing, not about the relationship. So many wounds have been made with the ‘If you just believed more…’ line. It is too, too easy to make sweeping generalisations about ‘minimising God’ – this is not possible. God is not subject to our belief. Surely He exists beyond it.
I’m with Jim on this one. The less faith, the less we trust and ultimately, the less we achieve with God’s help.
That’s the point.
Isnt it great?, we trust where we cannot see the way, we trust and obey, because = theres no other way.
It is great, although not always simple or easy.
