End Times

by Jim Knaggs on December 27, 2009

As the end of 2009 draws closer you will see all sorts of reports about the highlights of the year and lists of significant happenings and events. This year we have the added expectations of the decade as well. Time Magazine has claimed their person of significance for the year and I imagine so has Sports Illustrated. We will be inundated with the top selling movies, best viewed TV shows, most critical historic events and all.

Have you thought about your own list? I mean the most significant events in your year and the most important influencers in your life? You and I will never be on the popular media lists, but that doesn’t render our life less than extraordinary. i can think of plenty of people who have influenced me this year. I can also name some very significant events in my life. Have I mentioned the birth of my grand daughter lately?

More and more I’m witnessing the power of God upon me. With each passing year of my life I’m seeing His significance in me more clearly than ever. My family too stands taller and is closer to me each year. They’re spectacular. Close friends? Work associates? Yes, every one of these are making a difference in my life. God has placed them there and I’m grateful.

Who’s on your list?

1 Corinthians 12:19
But I also want you to think about how this keeps your significance from getting blown up into self-importance. For no matter how significant you are, it is only because of what you are a part of.

I too must turn ever closer to the Lord and treasure the gifts of family and friends that God has given me!
