Reading the Commissioners speech, It takes me back to my 1st appointment as Corps Planters in SWONEKY ( South West Ohio Northeast Kentucky) . As Commissioner said,if I read it correctly, age doesn't make a difference, when God calls, you MUST respond. My wife retired from the military and were appointed as Corps Planters, Yes it was diffucult at first, but God was in control and today, the Corps we opened is blooming all the time. We keep in contact with a few of the orginial soldiers whom we made. Let God do what he does best and we as his children must be ready to respond to His calling us.
You will be in our prayers as you move forward in this endeavor.
God bless you
A Major doing what God has called him to do in HIS Army

Dear Commissioner
Congratulations on a exciting plan for the future. I am one of those who put my hand up to help launch this idea. However when I talked to our DC he didn't seem to know any thing about it.
But in your Blog and on Sunday you made it clear that it was
as THQ and DHQ vision, as you see below...
"With the response and vision of DC’s and THQ leadership, we actually see the way for one new corps each week in 2010 of the Salvation Army."
When I asked our DC for more information they did not have any, and seemed unclear on what is happening.
Can you please let us know the facts as our Corps officer didn't know any thing either.
Regards

Annonymous - maybe that is why new initiatives are needed - as some of the old ways aren't working. Makes sense to me to do something new, rather than keeping on doing what isn't working so well. Isn't that the definition of insane - doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result?? Obviously lots of logistical problems to overcome like you mentioned - but there always will be. Shouldn't stop us trying new things! I think its so so amazing!!!! I think the Commisioner and his team will need all the prayer and support they can get.

I'm blessed to be a part of a Corps thats alive! Praise God! I think you'll find other officers/corps in the same situation. There are many corps who are praying hard. They are believing in God. Trusting him to grow his Church, and asking for wisdom on how to partner with him in this exciting mission.
I love the forward visionary thinking of Commissioner Knaggs, and his ability to inspire people with the vision God has laid on his heart. We support you Commissioner...
I look forward to the rolling out of the strategy in the days ahead!!

Dear Anonymous.
The TC made quite clear the reasoning behind this aggressive approach in his address. I don't think the possibility of "creating more problems" is a major factor. The point to me seemed to be about winning people for Jesus!
If (like me) you were unable to be there to hear the address first-hand you can see the commissioning service online via:
