Majors Arthur and Glenys Ford

by Jim Knaggs on November 22, 2009

Two more of our finest have entered retirement from active service. Knowing them you would understand that they will remain active in their chosen ways. Their lifetime of ministry is a testimony to the faithfulness of God and the faithfulness of the Fords towards Him. The meeting, held at the Waverley Temple Corps was well attended and supported by the band, songsters and timbrels. Each of these groups are terrific. The Fords too surprised us all with a vocal duet, “I Believe in Miracles.”

I stand in awe of people who serve, survive and stand for Jesus through all. The journey is bereft with challenging experiences and times of pain and joy. As the rain falls on the just and the unjust, so the complications of service are not incidental. Their spiritual stamina should not be assumed or under appreciated. I thank God for them. Hallelujah!

Romans 15:1
Those of us who are strong and able in the faith need to step in and lend a hand to those who falter, and not just do what is most convenient for us. Strength is for service, not status. Each one of us needs to look after the good of the people around us, asking ourselves, “How can I help?”
