Does the term "Secret Societies" include Freemasonry? Masons have traditionally claimed not to be a "secret society" simply a "Society with secrets". A few years ago, Candidates had to sign a document indicating whether or not they were Masons, and if they were currently or in the past, members, were required to renounce the organisation and its methods. It;s my understanding that the Salvation Army ihn the USA receives very significant funding assistance from Freemasonry and as a result has taken an expedient attitude to the organisation.
