Its probably because the pastor or the businessman stands out from the crowd and they are more successful in what they do. People should be rewarded for their efforts.

How about the army pay a bonus to officers who are performing well ?

I've seen some officers really put in a good effort and get great results and some that have the opposite effect and they get paid the same. Unfair I say !

God often leads pastors to accept job offers from churches that pay more than their current congregations; God often leads businesspeople to accept promotions to more prestigious positions, etc. Funny how that works.

With respect a delightful overview of the rationale of arriving at the truth I also delighted in my studies at Melb Univ in Phil, when this very area was looked at, my experience has been that most decisions are really just a compromise, and as such change whenever the dynamics of the concept alter. I would delight also in being right about my colleagues but I truly would rather be seen as wrong wrong wrong, than to cause hurt. There is a formidable warning by Jesus about those who seek to be leaders.

Still the Army or the TSA? is great and I do love the music, I fear though that the Second General was wrong when he said "I am not a volunteer" and the first General correct when he reminded Bramwell,"You don"t understand men"The Army perhaps is the brain child of Bramwell not his Dad. Still the world needs volunteer Welfare organizations no matter what the rational, but perhaps a musing on the possibility of making a mistake I know that I often accept that I am just wrong. The love of God does me contrain...
