Observing this 'poverty' first hand in a GAT territory, I would encourage all to support the fund for retired officers. Some are struggling to live on 2-3USD a day and having territorial funded medical grant (limited) means those with long term illnesses struggle.

AL

I feel very sorry for anyone living in poverty, it really is very sad.I guess it becomes a matter for the employing authority, what is and what is not possible. Perhaps the Army could consider the Marxist approach "From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs. I have sat in on some riots of banquets when leaders have roared out "A dangerous tendency has shown itself of late among many of our personnel -- an unwillingness to share the joys and hardships of the masses, a concern for personal fame and gain.-Chairman Mao" heady stuff for a Braybrook iron factory boy.
